P2VPN for Windows
Install a compatible desktop client, import your personal P2VPN subscription and choose a connection mode. Happ provides an official Windows client and is the example used here.
What you need
- A Windows computer supported by the client’s current installer.
- Working internet access and an active P2VPN subscription or trial.
- Your personal subscription link, available in the P2VPN bot.
Install a compatible VPN client
Open the official Happ download page and choose its Windows installer. Check the current system and processor requirements, install the app and open it.
You can also follow the compatible-client option on your subscription page. P2VPN provides the subscription; the client is maintained by its own developer.
Copy your P2VPN subscription link
Open the bot’s “My subscription” section on your computer, then open your subscription page. Copy the complete personal link for manual import, or use the page’s add-to-app option.
If your link is on another device, transfer it privately to your own computer. Do not paste it into a public online tool to make a QR code or shorten the address.
Import the subscription
Open the add-subscription control
In Happ, use the option to add a subscription from the clipboard. Alternatively, let your subscription page open the installed app.
Load the configuration
Confirm the import and wait for the server list. If the link cannot be fetched, check ordinary internet access and try the supplied backup subscription link.
Choose a route
Select a P2VPN server from the imported list. Keep the imported settings unless support or the client’s documentation tells you to change them.
Enable VPN: system proxy or TUN
A desktop client may offer system proxy and tunnel (TUN) modes. System proxy is used by applications that honor the operating system’s proxy settings. Some applications use their own networking and may not follow it.
TUN uses a virtual network interface to route traffic, subject to the client’s routing rules and exclusions. Follow the client’s instructions and approve any required system permission prompt. Do not assume that every connection is included just because TUN is on.
Choose the mode appropriate for your apps, select a server and start the connection. If changing modes, disconnect first and reconnect after the change.
Check the connection
Check the connected status, then open a website and a desktop application you want to route through P2VPN. Test the actual application as well as the browser, especially when using system proxy.
A successful page load confirms connectivity, not complete DNS or routing coverage. Review the security explanation if you need to understand those limits.
Troubleshooting on Windows
The browser works, but another app does not
Check whether the app honors system proxy. If the client supports TUN, consult its instructions for that mode and review any routing exclusions. Do not change security software settings just to make a connection work.
TUN mode fails to start
Read the client’s error and check whether its required system permission was granted. Disconnect another active VPN, restart the client and retry. Contact support if it still fails; do not disable your firewall as a general workaround.
The subscription will not update or connect
Check the expiry in the bot and verify ordinary internet access. Refresh the subscription list, try another route and use your supplied backup link if the subscription page cannot be reached.
Internet stops after closing the client
Reopen the client and disconnect normally so it can release its connection settings. If the problem remains, ask support to help check the proxy or tunnel state. Include your Windows version, client version and redacted error text.
